Why CSV import instead of broker linking?

Most dividend trackers ask you to connect your Fidelity account directly — sharing read access to your portfolio, transaction history, and account details with a third-party server. Elite Dividend Tracker takes a different approach.

With CSV import, you export your positions from Fidelity and import the file locally. No credentials are shared, no OAuth token is stored, and your position data is never transmitted to any server. Your Fidelity account stays between you and Fidelity.

The trade-off is that you re-import when your holdings change. For most dividend investors — who tend to hold positions for months or years — this is a small price to pay for not having your brokerage account connected to a third-party app.

FAQ
Fidelity + Elite Dividend Tracker questions

How do I export my positions from Fidelity?

Log in to Fidelity, go to Accounts & Trade → Portfolio → Positions, and click the Download link near the top right of the positions table. Save the CSV file to your device. The file includes your tickers, quantities, and current values.

Does EDT automatically detect the Fidelity CSV format?

Yes. EDT's broker auto-detection recognizes the Fidelity CSV layout automatically. You don't need to rename columns or adjust the file — just select it in Settings → Import CSV and EDT handles the mapping.

What if I have positions in multiple Fidelity accounts?

You can import multiple CSV files into the same portfolio, or use EDT's multi-portfolio feature (Pro) to keep separate accounts in separate portfolios. Each portfolio tracks its own dividend calendar and income projections.

Does EDT pull live dividend data for my Fidelity holdings?

Yes. After import, EDT enriches your holdings with live dividend schedule data — upcoming pay dates, per-share amounts, and frequency — so your calendar and forecast are based on current data, not just your cost basis.

Is the Fidelity CSV import free?

Yes. Fidelity CSV import is a free feature in Elite Dividend Tracker. The core dividend calendar, upcoming payouts, and income totals are free to use. Pro upgrades add the full 12-month forecast chart, sector analytics, payout history, and push notifications.

Does EDT work on iPhone for Fidelity users?

Yes. Elite Dividend Tracker is available as a free download on the iOS App Store. You can email yourself the Fidelity CSV and import it directly on your iPhone, or use the web app at elitedividendtracker.com.
